Jasmin Osei Kuffour or "Jazz", as she is known to many, is a wife, a mother and certainly her mother’s child as well as the official face, heart and soul of Mataa's Kitchen.
When Jasmin and Terry met in their teens, Terry was amazed by her cooking skills at such a young age (14). This confirmed the phrase “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” as she embodies the same cooking skills and qualities as her mother “Mataa”.
After graduating from high school, Jasmin pursued a career as a dental assistant. Whilst in dentistry, she was never fully content and increasingly felt the urge to change her career into something she is more passionate about. Terry being her partner constantly supported her dreams and motivated her to get more involved with her mother’s catering business as he sees the joy and happiness Jasmin demonstrates any time she’s in the kitchen cooking. After a long battle within herself, she finally decided to launch "Mataa's Kitchen" together with her mother.
The plan initially was limited only to the catering service, however an opportunity presented itself when Jasmin came across the "Kulturküche" in Bremen, which permitted opening a pop-up restaurant to test their services as well as the lovely dishes Mataa’s kitchen is capable of delivering.
The first pop-up event was very successful and gave everyone involved so much joy (despite a lot of stress) that both Jasmin and her mother Mataa felt compelled to open a restaurant to spread the unique taste of Mataa’s Kitchen and not limit it only to the private catering clients.
Henceforth Jasmin's vision of a catering service and Terry's vision of a restaurant merged together to open the restaurant what we now call "Mataa’s Kitchen".
